How to Calculate Square Feet Coverage
To calculate the square footage of the walls, measure the length
(L) multiplied by the height (H) of the wall. This will give you the square
footage needed to cover the area.
To figure the square footage of a Gable (the triangle wall area
that meets the roof line), measure the length (L) multiplied by the height (H)
at the highest point, then multiply by .60
Add all coverage areas together for your actual or net square
footage required.

|
L x H = square feet |
L x H x .60 = square feet |
You will need to allow a generous waste factor for cutting,
fitting and the occasional miss-cut. It is common practice to not deduct
for door, window and other openings. This allowance typically offsets the
estimated waste factor for most applications. However, if you have minimal
openings or involved angled cuts, you should increase your waste factor from 15%
to 30% or even greater allowance and thus your total square feet to provide proper coverage.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like help in calculating your
coverage area.
