Our solid wood batten door kits authentically replicate the
batten doors common to early, Colonial American architecture.
Vertical
tongue & grooved random width planks are fastened together
with horizontal boards called battens. Doors are typically
assembled with cut nails. Each Batten Door Kit Includes
all wood components required to make a standard 1-3/8" x 3'0 x 6'8" solid wood batten door (2-1/8"
total assembled door thickness, including battens):

Batten Door Kits
include wood components only and exclude assembly, cutting & fitting of
components, custom bores required
for hinges and hardware, jambs or pre-hanging. Please see our optional

With
our detailed assembly guide, and a few basic carpentry skills, you can easily
build your own traditional batten door. Complete the function and look of your
batten door with hand crafted
iron latch sets, strap hinges and other distinctive hardware.
