Lumber Loc™ Concealed Deck
Fastener System
The Lumber Loc™ system is the most user friendly and competitively
priced concealed deck fastener on the market today. Engineered for use with all
decking materials including, cypress, exotic hardwoods, plastic and wood
composites. The Lumber Loc deck fastening system provides a pristine deck surface free of nail or screw
holes.
-
The patented expansion wings provide 1/4" uniform spacing between
deck boards while allowing expansion and contraction in both width AND length.
-
Lumber Loc™ fasteners require no pre-drilling, typically required with other deck
fasteners when used with dense exotic hardwoods such as Ipe. All deck boards are set level and to a uniform height.
-
Lumber Loc™
fasteners are easily installed from above the deck surface, making it truly
user friendly.
-
The provided high grade 305 stainless steel screw
is securely fastened between the
deck boards at a 90-degree angle to the joist with the provided extended driver
bit.
-
One Lumber Loc™ clip secures 2 adjoining deck boards which speeds installation and also allows for
easier future removal of an individual board.
-
The black colored Lumber Loc™ clips
and the provided black powder-coated screw heads hide in the shadow of the joint, making the clips virtually
invisible from above and below the deck surface.
-
Lumber Loc™
clips are formulated from a
durable copolymer blend of polypropylene to resistant the damaging effects
of salt, oil, insects, as well as many acids and chemicals.

Simple Installation Directions
-
Fasten the first or starting board to intersecting joist with
the provided screws
or stainless steel nails.
-
The second deck board is fastened with a Lumber Loc® Fastener at
the rate of one fastener per board and joist intersection. For
pre-grooved decking, go to step 3 below.
-
If your deck boards are solid and not pre-grooved on the sides, follow these
instructions using a standard biscuit joiner saw: You can achieve the perfect
groove height for Lumber Loc® fasteners by removing the top guide plate of the
biscuit joiner and resting it on the joist. Set the saw blade depth at
5/8" and cut the slot at the center intersection of each deck board and joist
(see figure 2 ).
-
Place a Lumber Loc® Fastener in the pre-groove board or slot centered on each joist. Fastener
legs must rest flush on joint after insertion. Attach the fastener with the provided stainless steel screws at slightly less
than a 90 degree angle through the Lumber Loc® Fastener. The screw head should
be relatively flush with fastener. Gently snug the fastener, taking care not to over-tighten the screw
as to bow
the fastener. The fastener wing must remain parallel to the joist so
that the next deck board fits snugly. You will find Lumber Loc® user friendly
and efficient.
-
Repeat the process for each board until you reach the outside edge of the last board
which is
fastened with the remaining provided screws or stainless steel nails, if
preferred.
